Your new company
This is a local public sector organisation that is looking to hire a General Secretary to join their Mental Health Services. This Band 3 role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide vital administrative support to professional mental health teams, contributing to the delivery of high-quality care across the Trust.
Your new role
As a General Secretary, you will play a key role in supporting the Mental Health Directorate by delivering efficient and comprehensive secretarial and administrative services. You'll be responsible for:
- Audio typing and word processing of reports and correspondence
- Minute-taking and meeting organisation (including travel across Trust sites)
- Diary management and handling sensitive documentation
- Managing telephone and face-to-face contact with service users, including distressing situations
- Maintaining accurate records and databases
- Supporting consultant/medical staff caseloads, including appointment scheduling and waiting list administration.
- General office duties, including filing, stock ordering, and reception cover
Essential Criteria:
- 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English Language or NVQ Level 2 in Administration or 2 years' relevant experience
- RSA/OCR Stage II Text Processing or 12 months' word processing experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (reasonable adjustments will be made for applicants with disabilities)
- Experience with patient information systems
- Minute-taking and diary management
- Handling sensitive calls and documentation
