English & Humanities Teacher - Slough

Location: Slough
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: MPS1-UPS3

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English & Humanities Teacher to join an outstanding, thriving and ambitious secondary school in Slough. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students across both subject areas and contribute to a successful and collaborative department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons across English and Humanities at Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable).
  • Inspire students through high-quality teaching that develops critical thinking, communication skills, and an understanding of the world around them.
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress effectively in line with school policies.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of learning and behaviour.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, enrichment activities, fieldwork opportunities, and extracurricular learning experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and achievement across both departments.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature and at least one Humanities discipline (such as Geography, History, or Religious Studies).
  • Passion for inspiring and motivating students of all abilities.
  • Commitment to raising achievement and supporting student progress.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
