Job Description

The role is a casual, part time Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, offering flexible working and the opportunity to work with fresh seasonal food while delivering hotel/restaurant standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
  • Assist in menu development and work with residents to tailor menus.
  • Prepare high quality, wholesome dishes using fresh seasonal produce.
  • Create a warm, efficient and fun environment for the team.
  • Work within budget, complete regular audits and manage stock control.
  • Assist in leading and motivating the kitchen team.
Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Hold a City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a kitchen team.
  • Good understanding of nutrition and HACCP.
  • Experience working with fresh seasonal food.
  • Personable and warm approach with genuine interest in residents' wellbeing.
