Scientist

• Design crystallisation processes to produce active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) with appropriate properties for drug product processing
• Identify and resolve polymorphic form issues within crystallisation processes
• Develop process models demonstrating predictive capability and first-principles process understanding
• Independently execute laboratory protocols and experiments linking API structural and bulk properties to downstream performance
• Inform R&D decision-making through laboratory studies and data analysis
• Collaborate on multi-disciplinary development teams with Chemists, Chemical Analysts, Engineers, Modelers, and Pharmaceutical Scientists
• Manage and interpret data, record results, and communicate findings in technical reports
• Present effectively at internal meetings and potentially participate in technical project reviews
• Comply with regulatory, data integrity, GSK policy, procedure, and safety requirements
• Own and maintain laboratory equipment where required
• Research equipment capability improvements and contribute to technology investment decisions

Requirements

• BSc in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or related discipline
• Experience working in an organic chemistry lab environment
• Demonstrated learning agility
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• PhD in Crystallisation or related field OR MSc with proven industrial experience (preferred)
• Experience independently planning and executing experiments, including interpretation of analytical data (preferred)
• Experience designing crystallisation processes to produce APIs with appropriate properties for drug product processing (preferred)
• Familiarity with physical and solid-state characterisation techniques (preferred)
• Experience contributing to multi-disciplinary teams (preferred)
• Inclusive, respectful, and supportive approach to colleagues (preferred)
• Effective oral and written communication skills (preferred)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems (preferred)
• Experience with electronic notebooks (preferred)
