Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Scientific Associate for our Safety Assessment Group located in Elphinstone, Tranent. This position is a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The responsibilities for the Scientific Associate position include:

  • Use HPLC with MS detection for quantification of compounds in liquid matrices.
  • Use MSD for ligand binding assays or equivalent for quantification of compounds in liquid matrices.
  • Carry out experiments supporting method validation and routine samples generated within GLP and/or GCP regulatory studies.
  • Follow written instructions (SOPs, protocols, analytical procedures) and document details to ensure compliance.
  • Perform technical laboratory activities supporting client studies or procedures.
  • Analyze data for quality and completeness, and verify results.
  • Record data in compliance with company and regulatory policies to meet quality and accuracy standards.

The minimum qualifications for the Scientific Associate position include:

  • A BSc in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • Experience with complex software packages is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of sample preparation and chromatographic techniques.
  • Good problem-solving skills, ability to work under tight deadlines, and accurate data recording.
  • Effective communication skills.

The salary for this role is £27,163.48 per annum. The closing date for applications is 03 July 2025.
