The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Science team at Gower College Swansea working at Gorseinon and Tycoch Campus.

  • Full time (37 hours per week)
  • Term time (36 weeks per annum)
  • Permanent
Key Responsibilities
  • Liaise with teaching staff to support the delivery of A Level and Vocational Science courses
  • Ensure that all practical sessions are planned effectively and a safe working environment is maintained
  • Complete First Responder training and undertake the duties
About You
  • Ideally possess a Level 2 qualification in Mathematics and Science
  • Ideally with a science background and a current knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
  • Recent experience of working as a Science Technician in an educational setting is desirable
  • Sound administration skills and be proficient in the use of spreadsheets and databases
  • 28 days (pro-rata) annual leave, plus bank holidays, and the college is closed for two weeks over the Christmas period
  • A Local Government Pension Scheme with an average employer contribution of 21% (2025)

  • The successful candidate will complete First Responder training and undertake the associated duties. Upon completion of training, an additional £50 per month will be paid.
  • Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to a start date before 1st February).
