Science Technician

To start on 2 September 2026

Full time equivalent salary range: £24,796 - £25,583 per annum
Actual salary: £20,734 - £21,392 per annum

Required to work 37 hours a week, 38 weeks a year (term time only) 8.00am - 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am - 3.30pm on a Friday. Half an hour for lunch daily.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our successful School and Sixth Form. We seek a highly organised individual in this newly created role to support our Science department, so if you have an interest in science and want to support young people in their learning, this could be the job for you. You will be enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to helping our students. You will develop, prepare and maintain Science equipment and materials in order to assist our talented team in helping our students to learn about science.

You will be joining us at a very exciting time. Our sixth form has recently opened, bringing numerous opportunities for continued development.

Responsibilities

Provide practical and technical support to teachers delivering the Science curriculum, preparing and maintaining resources to enable safe and engaging practical activities to be undertaken by staff and students.

Provide advice and guidance, including ensuring that COSHH regulations are adhered to at all times.
