Your Role

As the School Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our school's premises. You will play a key role in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and maintenance of our school buildings and grounds. You'll work closely with the school leadership team, staff, and external contractors to make sure everything runs smoothly. Your role will directly impact the well being of our students and staff, ensuring that our school is a safe and inspiring place for learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the school site, including indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Manage a team of assistants, cleaners, and external contractors. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safeguarding protocols.
  • Handle day to day site management tasks, including repairs, refurbishments, and preventative maintenance.
  • Be the first point of contact for any site related issues and respond promptly to emergency situations.
  • Manage budgets for maintenance and site improvements.
  • Collaborate with staff and external agencies to ensure that the premises meet the needs of our students, especially those with special educational needs (SEN).
What We're Looking For
  • A proactive, hands on approach with experience in site management, facilities management, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and experience of managing safe working practices.
  • A passion for supporting SEN students and a commitment to maintaining an environment where they can thrive.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets, contracts, and a small team.
  • Previous experience working in a school or care environment is an advantage but not essential.

Springfield House is a Birmingham LA special school.

Our provision is targeted to meet the Special Educational Needs of young people, aged 5 11, who experience Social, Emotional and Mental health difficulties. Our pupils have with a wide range of complex conditions, including ASC, ADHD, ACE's and Attachment Disorder. They have also often experienced significant disruption to their education due to multiple school moves, exclusions and periods of part time or no placement in a school.
