Senior Administrative Officer - salary range 41500 nego Reports to: School Business Manager / Deputy Business Manager
Line Management: Welfare & Attendance Assistant
Grade: Scale 6 (Points 18-20) - Subject to evaluation
Working Hours: 35 hours/week, 43 weeks/year (TTO + 3 weeks)

TasksAdministrative Leadership:
Oversee daily office operations, support SLT and staff, manage internal/external communications, and maintain accurate MIS records (e.g., SIMS).
Admissions & Records:
Manage all admissions processes, update SIMS for new starters and leavers, and handle records transfer and end-of-year data tasks.
Attendance Monitoring:
Track daily attendance, follow up on absences, liaise with families and external agencies, and support improvement strategies.
First Aid & Welfare:
Lead on first aid provision, administer medication, manage medical records/supplies, and respond to emergencies as needed.
Stakeholder Communication:
Act as front-of-house contact for parents and visitors, liaise with staff and external agencies, and provide parent support where required.
General Office Duties:
Coordinate data returns (e.g., census), manage reports and assessments, oversee ParentPay and staff absence, and support diary/meeting logistics.
Safeguarding & Compliance:
Follow safeguarding procedures, maintain confidentiality, and complete required training and supervision.
RequirementsEssential Criteria:
- Must hold Level 3 qualifications in English and Maths.
- Willingness to undertake further training as required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professional integrity.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and SIMS.
- Able to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Has a clear understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting.
- Must hold a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in a school administrative role.
- Prior experience working in an office environment.
- Experience related to pupil welfare or attendance.
- Additional knowledge or training in safeguarding in education.
