School Crossing Patrol Officer

Location: Burntisland Primary School
ResponsibilitiesAs a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will play a vital role in community safety by ensuring children and other members of the community safely cross the road at a designated point between specified times.
It is essential that you can attend the patrol point daily at school opening and closing times in all weather conditions, including attending at short notice in the event of unscheduled school closures.
Hours are mainly 8:15 am to 9:10 am and 2:50 pm to 3:25 pm.
QualificationsNo formal qualifications are necessary; the ability to cope in all weather conditions, good road sense, knowledge of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code, and previous experience of working with children would be desirable.
CompensationYou will earn a competitive salary of £25,604.23 pro rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:
- Scottish Local Government Living Wage of £13.64 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
- Pay is annualised (equal instalments every 4 week pay period).

Health and SafetyYou will be required to complete an annual Occupational Health Surveillance Questionnaire and attend for any Occupational Health Assessments as necessary. You will also be required to attend an induction training day before starting in post.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
