Overview

Outwood Academy Bydales is an 11-16 school located in the coastal village of Marske-by-the-Sea, close to the North York Moors National Park with views of the coastline. As a Cover Supervisor you will supervise students during short term teacher absences and assist in preparing the learning environment and materials required. You will cover lessons of any subject using the cover work set by the teacher, set high expectations to motivate and challenge students whilst managing behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Organise the daily cover rota for absent staff and contact teaching supply agencies to arrange supply staff.
• Cover lessons of any subject using the cover work set by the teacher and maintain high expectations to motivate and challenge students while managing behaviour.
• In periods where cover is not required, support in the classroom as directed.

Qualifications and attributes

• The post would ideally suit an individual considering a teaching career, but applications are welcome from any candidate with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.
