Job Title: School Cleaner
Location: Bluebank School, Whittington Moor, Derbyshire, S41 8LQ
Salary: £12,614.00 per annum / £13.25 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week TBC Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent Term Time plus 3 weeks
Start Date: February 2026

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaner to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across our premises. This vital role ensures a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will work closely with the Site Manager and school leadership to carry out scheduled and ad hoc cleaning duties efficiently, safely, and in line with school policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas
- Carry out additional or one-off cleaning tasks as required
- Work around the school schedule, adapting as needed for events or activities
- Safely use and store cleaning materials in line with COSHH regulations
- Monitor and report cleaning supply stock levels
- Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Support the school's safeguarding policies by maintaining vigilance in all areas
Who We're Looking For
- Previous experience in cleaning, particularly in schools or similar environments
- Good understanding of COSHH and safe cleaning practices
- Ability to work independently, showing initiative and reliability
- High attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Punctual, dependable, and professional
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people

Bluebank School is a brand-new Acorn Education provision set to open in January 2026 in Whittington Moor, Derbyshire. The co-educational school will cater for up to 60 pupils aged 11 to 16, offering specialist support for children and young people with complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
