Sales Manager (IT Services)

Our London based IT Services client has a permanent opportunity for a Sales Manager to lead the Sales function, be responsible for the delivery of all Sales targets in the department against budget. You will be a player/manager with one or more direct reports but will also have a quota to achieve a personal Sales target.
As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic management of the Sales function to maximise the opportunities for Sales growth, reporting to the CEO. The formulation and successful execution of the strategy will require collaboration across the different departments within the business, including but not limited to, Delivery, Finance and Product Development.
You will be an entrepreneurial, innovative and self-starting individual with a strong grasp of application delivery and can clearly articulate the need for professional and independent testing services.
This is primarily a remote role with a need to travel to meetings and events when required.
To be successful in the role you will need the following experience and qualifications:
- 5+ years as a manager in a Sales organisation for an IT software or services provider
- Experience with developing business development activities, planning and organising them effectively to drive future pipeline
- 5+ years of experience in a quote-carrying professional services sales role showing a strong track record of over-achievement against targets
- Self-starting, high-energy, able to act independently to execute a successful Sales process from initial lead through to closing
- Strong grasp of the sales cycle and how it operates in the IT and services industry
- (Ideally) Market awareness of the UK Higher Education Sector and the current challenges facing it.
- Knowledge of common IT systems used in the sector
- Content: able to hold meaningful customer conversations with customers with a strong grasp of the testing process and the benefits of the services and products that our client offers
- Commercial acumen: able to articulate the value of a deal and to think on their feet when negotiating
- Strong awareness of key terms and conditions which are likely to be objections for customers and possess knowledge of how to mitigate their impact on a sale
- Able to handle customer objections either directly or by effectively referring them to colleagues
- Communication: excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Able to communicate at all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to present a sales proposition to an audience to engage their interest and position our client positively.
- Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism
- Proficiency with sales management software and CRM (Hubspot)
