The Opportunity:

Our client is on the lookout for a proactive Sales Manager to promote their range of intelligent transport hardware and SaaS solutions, driving growth across the whole product line.

You will focus on developing relationships and maximising market share of the local and combined authority sector, working autonomously to develop a comprehensive sales strategy across your patch.

Ideally you will come from a technical sales background, ideally with electronic device or software aimed at engineering or infrastructure applications.

Any experience in roadside technology (ANPR, RPID, Message Signs, Weigh in motion systems, traffic signals, etc) would be highly beneficial.

Skills and Experience:

  • You will have a track record of successful business development into the public sector (local authorities, combined authorities, emergency services, etc.)
  • You'll be goal oriented, resilient, and have the ability to self-motivate and manage within an unstructured environment.
  • A proven background maintaining sales pipelines and delivering against realistic targets
  • Professional sales and negotiation training (eg SPIN, Miller Heiman, Challenger Sales, etc.) would be highly beneficial
  • A full UK driver's licence would be beneficial and the willingness to travel as and when required

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Pro-actively selling across the company's entire product portfolio, building a comprehensive sales strategy
  • Directly manage the most complex, high value and strategically important customer accounts and national frameworks
  • Act as the regional subject matter expert, keeping abreast of public sector procurement strategy to inform product development decisions
  • Identify opportunities to bid for work and utilise the internal bid team to draft responses
  • Attend face to face meetings with new and existing clients across your patch, as well as attending industry events and trade shows
