From reducing fuel consumption, measured by tonnes per day, in ocean going ships through our WindWings and advanced efficiency optimisation methods, to enabling the growth of marine electrification with the implementation of our foiling and foil optimised stability (FOSS) solutions.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team and contribute to this pioneering work. This is a key role for someone who thrives at the intersection of sales and high-performance engineering in the maritime world. You'll work closely with the technical and commercial teams, taking ownership of sales and marketing tasks to build the business globally.

Responsibilities:

The Duties will always be performed in close collaboration with the Sales Director and other colleagues as appropriate, and will include, but are not limited to:

  • Marketing: Assessment of the markets for products and services provided by BAR Technologies (BART), and positioning of the products and services within the market, in terms of territory, target customers, target pricing and their required characteristics.
  • Business Development: develop strategies for the selection and development of new prospects within those markets of interest to BART, from first contact through to first sale.
  • Sales: Engage with new customers of BART products and services, from first order through to ongoing business. This may include aspects of customer service, planning, quality and finance. Represent the 'voice of customer' to BART.
  • Sales Agency support and liaison: Work with nominated sales agents for BART products and services, assisting them as if they were an extension of our in-house sales team. This may include aspects of all other duties listed here.
  • Reporting: Report on all aspects of marketing, business development, sales to BART as required
  • Public relations: Liaison with our nominated PR consultancy, development of PR plan, schedule and narratives for press releases, promotional campaigns & social media for marketing, business development, sales or other BART activities.
  • Events: Attend tradeshows, conferences, dinners and other trade & industry events on behalf of BART.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool: Populate and maintain our CRM tool with all required data for prospects and customers.
  • Website and promotional material: Work with nominated web developers to continuously enhance and update the BART website. Work with graphics designers to develop brochures for BART products and services as required, typically on an annual basis.
  • Be a Team Player: Work with other members of the sales team, and those of other teams within BART; engaging in technical and commercial discussions as required.
  • Learn about BART products and the industry such that you can talk confidently and with authority to individual prospects on conference calls and face-to-face.
  • Other duties: carrying out such other duties as are reasonably assigned to you from time to time by the Sales Director, any other Head of department or CEO.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • Experience in the commercial marine industry

  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills
