Job Description

The Sales Director Neuroscience is a key commercial leader accountable for driving the strategic and operational excellence of Jazz's Neuroscience franchise in Germany. Reporting to the Business Unit Director Neuroscience, these individual leads, develops, and inspires a high-performing sales organization to deliver sustainable growth, operational excellence, and strong cross functional collaboration.

This person will define and execute the German sales strategy, drive commercial excellence, and ensure alignment with European and global business objectives. Success in this role requires a combination of strategic vision, leadership acumen, cross functional influence, and hands on execution within a dynamic and highly regulated environment.

Essential Functions 1. Leadership Development & Coaching:
  • Lead the evolution of the KAM team into a high performance organization through clear vision, empowerment, coaching excellence, and a culture of continuous learning and improvement, by consistently applying and exemplifying Jazz's high performance practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective performance management practices, ensuring clear expectations and continuous, constructive feedback.
  • Provide coaching, feedback and mentorship to KAMs, fostering their professional development and career growth.
  • Act as a role model for Jazz's cultural values, consistently demonstrating them in daily interactions and leadership.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to cross functional teams, including Medical & Market Access, to drive alignment and collaboration.
2. Cross Functional & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as a strategic connector across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Marketing to ensure seamless and compliant collaboration that delivers measurable value for customers and patients.
  • Lead integrated account planning processes that combine clinical, market, and access insights to develop tailored engagement strategies for key (account) customers and institutions.
  • Foster a culture of open insight sharing across functions to anticipate market dynamics, identify opportunities, and jointly address barriers to access or adoption.
  • Leverage data, CRM insights, and real world evidence to guide coordinated customer engagement and continuously refine execution excellence.
  • Represent Jazz in relevant national forums, professional associations, and strategic partnerships.
3. Execution of Commercial Strategy & Operational Excellence
  • Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure accountability across all sales initiatives.
  • Oversee all sales operations and ensure flawless execution of tactical plans.
  • Drive excellence in Key Account Management (KAM) through clear performance metrics and structured Key Account reviews.
  • Implement data driven decision making by leveraging analytics, CRM insights, and market intelligence.
  • Foster cross functional collaboration to embed a Key Account Management mindset across the KAM team, ensuring strategic alignment with broader organizational goals.
  • Lead forecasting, territory optimization, and sales force effectiveness initiatives.
  • Guarantee compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant national laws and regulations.
  • Lead, inspire, and coach field based sales professionals.
  • Build a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster professional growth through targeted development plans, feedback, and recognition programs.
  • Attract and retain top commercial talent while promoting diversity, inclusion, and high engagement.
  • Role model Jazz's leadership values and behavioral standards in all interactions.
5. Financial & Performance Accountability
  • Own and manage the national sales budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and return on investment.
  • Deliver annual sales targets, market share goals, and profitability objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Contribute to long term revenue forecasting, demand planning, and pricing strategy discussions.
  • Ensure financial discipline and transparent reporting to senior management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical commercial roles, including substantial experience in sales leadership.
  • Proven success in leading national or regional sales teams within neuroscience, psychiatry, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Hands on experience using coaching frameworks to empower and develop teams is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of the German healthcare system, reimbursement pathways, and market access dynamics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative and team oriented mindset.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and interpret complex market data.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
  • Education: Master's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field; scientific degree preferred.
  • Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with knowledge of the orphan drug market.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in both spoken and written German and English is a must.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel throughout Germany.
