Job Description

Job Title: Sales Applications Engineer
Location: Dublin

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sales Applications Engineer to join our client, a leading international power generation specialist delivering low carbon, cost effective energy and battery storage solutions.

This is a technical sales and tendering role based in Dublin, supporting the sales function through the preparation of high quality tenders, quotations, proposals, and technical solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, the sales team, engineering teams, and project delivery functions to ensure commercially competitive and technically robust proposals are developed and delivered.

The role combines technical engineering expertise with commercial awareness, supporting business growth while ensuring customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support company sales activities through the preparation of tenders, quotations, proposals, and technical submissions.
  • Convert sales opportunities into profitable business orders.
  • Review engineering tender packages, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare cost estimates, pricing models, and commercial proposals.
  • Liaise with engineering, service, production, and project teams to develop effective technical solutions.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to support accurate tender submissions.
  • Evaluate the technical and commercial viability of projects and provide recommendations.
  • Manage tender submissions and ensure deadlines and contractual requirements are met.
  • Maintain customer communication throughout the proposal and clarification process.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers to secure business opportunities.
  • Support project handovers to design and project delivery teams.
  • Conduct market and competitor research to ensure proposals remain competitive.
  • Support the sales team in achieving business objectives and sales targets.
  • Attend customer meetings, industry events, and exhibitions to represent the company.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, legal, and industry standards.
Main Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of two years' relevant experience, or HND/HNC/NFQ qualification with a minimum of three years' relevant experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power generation systems, battery storage, and associated mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience preparing technical proposals, tenders, quotations, or bid documentation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications, contracts, and commercial requirements.
  • Experience in the design, development, or management of engineering or energy projects.
  • Strong customer facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and commercial awareness skills.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
