Client Overview


A leading UK-based manufacturer specialising in the design and production of high-quality plastic products. The company serves a diverse range of industries, including construction, traffic management, utilities, rail, events, hire and water sectors, selling through a global distribution network. The business has built a reputation for innovation, reliability and excellence in manufacturing.


Role Overview


Responsible for developing and managing a network of distribution partners across mainland Europe and beyond, with a strong focus on new business acquisition and strategic account management. This includes identifying, onboarding, and enabling partners to effectively represent the company's products in key markets. The role plays a critical part in expanding market reach, supporting sales growth, and ensuring close alignment between the distributor network and internal commercial objectives through long-term relationship management.


Responsibilities:


Distribution Network Development


  • Identify and target potential distribution partners across Europe in key sectors (infrastructure, utilities, construction, and related industries).
  • Lead the onboarding process for new distributors, including training, integration, and performance setup.
  • Ensure partners are equipped with the necessary product knowledge, marketing support, and tools to succeed.


Sales & Customer Relationship Management:


  • Achieve growth in all product groups and ensure that you are in line to hit your sales targets at all times.
  • Manage a customer portfolio of key accounts at national depot/office locations and ensure that all targets are achieved.
  • Build strong lasting customer relationships with your customer portfolio and targets.
  • Build strong relationships with Executive Team and staff to ensure that we generate a joined up approach towards all enquires and orders.
  • Identify major infrastructure, utilities and construction projects across Europe and work towards getting our product specified on these projects.
  • Manage all your customer activity via our call log system to ensure that all relevant data and information is captured as well as maintaining your pipeline of opportunities.
  • Participate in Networking at industry events and exhibitions to benefit our business.
  • Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with and addressed in a timely and professional manner and closed out correctly with our Executive Team and business.



Business Development:

  • Offer full support to our Sales Director on Tenders and Major Projects that benefit our business.
  • Work closely with our Sales Director and Internal Sales Team to ensure that we are targeting the right customers with offers, promotions, clearances and special offers.
  • Identify exhibitions that we should be carrying out as a business and ensure that if we are not exhibiting we are attending and networking seeking opportunities for our business.
  • Ensure that customer feedback is obtained and shared on a regular basis to make our business more efficient and to maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Monitor our competition from a sales perspective and ensure that all information is shared with our business.
  • Work closely with our Sales Director and Internal Sales Team to ensure that all new enquires, new prospects and opportunities are followed up.
  • Attend monthly one to ones and sales meetings when arranged and planned.




Reports & Administration:

  • Complete a winning works summary on a monthly basis that contributes towards our Executive Team business review.
  • Share good news stories; major wins, new accounts, high profile orders, tender success with Sales Director and business.
  • Complete own administration requirements in a timely fashion.



Person Specification:


  • Proven experience in building and managing sales/distributor networks across multiple European markets
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with strong working knowledge of French
  • Ability to build relationships across various levels of business
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of sales cycles in construction/infrastructure sectors beneficial
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter with strong planning and time management abilities
  • Comfortable with regular travel across Europe
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
