Battersea Bookshop are looking to recruit Sales Advisors for their Battersea Power Station Store.
Sales Advisor Role
We are looking to hire someone to join our team as a Sales Advisor at Battersea Bookshop, an independent bookshop located inside the iconic Battersea Power Station. We are looking for someone with a passion for books who is outgoing, personable and happy talking to others about their passion.
Job Description:
Sales Advisors form the heart of the customer-facing team and are essential to the daily rhythm, energy, and care that define the shop experience. Their role is grounded in excellent customer service, strong product awareness, and consistent attention to the shop's physical and emotional environment.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Offering warm, informed, and attentive customer support at the till and on the shop floor
- Responding to customer queries regarding stock, orders, and recommendations
- Shelving, tidying, alphabetising, and pricing stock, ensuring clarity and accessibility across sections
- Supporting display maintenance by rotating featured books and restocking as needed
- Communicating relevant customer feedback or floor insights to their managers
- Participating actively in floor upkeep and the shared effort of creating a welcoming environment Sales
Advisors are not responsible for opening or closing the shop or for daily reporting duties. However, they are crucial to the tone and functionality of the shop across all opening hours. Through consistent presence, task engagement, and customer connection, they ensure that the shop remains well-run, well-presented, and emotionally inviting. Ultimately, Sales Advisors anchor the day-to-day customer experience-offering care, consistency, and attention that keeps the shop vibrant and trustworthy.
Ideally, we are looking for someone to work full-time however we may be flexible.
Experience:
Experience working in a retail environment or similar is expected. While we do not require previous experience in a bookshop it is preferable.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £12.21ph
Schedule: 5 days per week with some weekend days per month for full-time
Holidays: 23 days per year
