Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care through face-to-face and telephone consultations
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Participate in duty and triage within a structured and safe system
- Prescribe safely in line with local and national guidelines
- Manage clinical workflow, including results and correspondence
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using System 1
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and service development
- Support teaching and supervision of students and trainees where appropriate
Mallard Medical Practice is a well-established practice in North Tyneside, Newcastle, serving a diverse population of approximately 5600 patients.
We are supported by a strong multidisciplinary team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals, alongside a highly capable administrative team.
As a medical student training practice, we support medical students from Newcastle University and Sunderland University creating a dynamic and supportive clinical environment.

Job responsibilitiesSalary: Depending on experience
Work: part-time, 4-6 sessions (preferably Mon & Thurs)
15-minute appointments as standard. 12 appts AM & PM
Well-functioning triage & on-call system.
Low number of home visits, supported by Carepoint for Homevisits.
Structured sessions with built-in admin/workflow capacity.
Supported by a strong MDT, including pharmacists and nurses to reduce GP workload.
Participation in clinical meetings, audits and quality improvement activities.
Contribution to QOF and enhanced services as part of routine care.
Indemnity covered.
Monthly clinical meetings, safeguarding meetings and palliative MDT.
Teaching opportunities (Newcastle and Sunderland University medical students).
Leadership and system-level exposure (PCN, Training Programme).

Qualifications- GMC registration with licence to practise
- Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List
- Demonstrable experience working as a GP in UK primary care
- Experienced in managing acute and chronic conditions in primary care
- Ability to manage clinical workload independently within a structured system
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
