Job Description

Overdale Medical Practice is delighted to offer an opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our well established, friendly and forward thinking team in Derbyshire. We are a stable, high performing practice with a strong reputation for excellent patient care, supportive teamwork and clinician well-being.

This post is ideal for a GP looking for a sustainable, enjoyable role within a genuinely supportive environment. Session number is flexible (typically 4-6 sessions per week)and we are open to discussions to meet both practice and individual needs.

You will take part in the practice on-call rota on a pro-rata basis in line with your agreed number of sessions.

Alongside clinical work, there is opportunity to develop a practice leadership or portfolio role aligned with your interests (for example safeguarding, education, quality improvement or service development), supported by training, mentorship and protected time.

Main duties of the job
  • 15 Minute appointments as standard to deliver safe, high quality, patient centred consultations.
  • Manageable workload with capped appointments and effective administrative support.
  • Undertake very few home visits, supported by a dedicated home visiting service.
  • Work collaboratively with a strong, approachable clinical leadership and management team.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary working with well embedded MDT and ARRS roles providing day to day clinical support.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful practice culture with a focus on patient experience and continue our high patient satisfaction.
  • Engage with learning, supervision and quality improvement, supporting retention and clinician well-being.

Job responsibilities
  • Provide the full range of general medical services to registered patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and onward referral as appropriate.
  • Undertake appropriate clinical administration (including results, correspondence and medication queries) in a timely manner, supported by practice systems.
  • Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team (including ARRS staff) to deliver coordinated care and appropriate signposting.
  • Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and practice meetings, and maintain CPD, appraisal and revalidation requirements.
  • Take part in the practice on-call rota on a pro-rata basis, proportionate to your agreed number of sessions.
Person Specification Experience
  • Commitment to high quality, compassionate patient care
  • Strong communication and team working skills
  • Engagement with CPD, appraisal and professional development
  • Experience in UK general practice
  • Specialist clinical interests (e.g. womens health, MSK, dermatology, minor surgery)
  • Interest in leadership, QI or service development
Qualifications
  • GMC registered GP.
