Are you wanting to join a stable GP Training Practice that's well liked by its patients? Do you need flexibility in your start and finish times, including leaving early for the school/nursery pick-up? The Avenue Surgery are looking to expand our current GP team by welcoming a new salaried GP, who can work from 6 - 8 sessions per week.
Your role- 6 or more sessions per week
- Very manageable workload of:
- 11 patients per session, 15 minute appointments
- 3 continuity slots (GP book only), 7.5 minute appointments
- List holding to promote continuity and getting to know your patients
- Total triage approach with two GPs managing triage together in the morning and one in the afternoon
- Opportunities to take on additional responsibilities for a higher salary
- Special interests encouraged and can evidence supporting existing clinicians.
- 6 weeks annual leave
- 1 week study leave (pro rata)

- Indemnity fees covered by Practice
- Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to an agreed standard.
- To take part in areas including clinical auditing and data collection.
- Contribute to QOF & IIF requirements and recording data appropriately.
- Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary.
- In general, the post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working with primary care, as set by Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, all other Royal Colleges and Councils applicable to the staff within the Practice, Department of Health, ICB, CQC, and all other regulatory and standard setting organisations.
The Avenue Surgery is a non dispensing, training practice, caring for circ.18500 patients in and around the semi rural town of Warminster, Wiltshire which is within an easy commute to the cities of Bath and Salisbury.
The practice is led by 7 GP partners and 4 salaried GP's supported by a hard working team of both clinical and administration staff including a specialist Living well team who support our most vulnerable and older community.
A strong prescribing team lead by a pharmacist and a pharmacist, pharmacy technicians and 3 prescription clerks.
The team are very committed to the surgery vision to provide a service that works with, and for, the community to meet the widest range of care, health promotion and education for our patients and staff members.

The surgery is committed to reducing the GP workload through investing in automation for reports and recalls, para medics who conduct the majority of home visits and GP assistants who minimise time consuming paper flow.
