Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our team. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner for a GMS, SystmOne practice, responsible for theprovision of safe, effective, and compassionate medical services to thepractice population.

  • List size of 10,000 in an expanding town.
  • We pride ourselves on being a successful Training practice.
  • Large MDT including ANP, Nurses/HCAs, 2 xpharmacists plus ARRS support from PCN for mentalhealth and physio
  • Correspondence management team means letterskept to a minimum.
  • Low numbers of home visits, cover one care home.
  • Pro rata share of Total Triage On Call sessions
  • Routine surgery max. 13 patients
  • Rated Good by CQC. the leadership, governanceand culture were used to drive and improve thedelivery of high quality person centred care.
  • Supportive team with high levels of pastoral care.Half of our GPs trained with us.
  • Flexible about where and how you work. Mixture of WFH and on site, telephoneconsultations and F2F

  • Regular clinical meetings with external speakers andlunch provided to catch up as a team and keep upto date

Main duties of the job
  • Delivering safe, effective, patient-centred medical care across the fullrange of general practice services.
  • Providing services commensurate with the GMS contract and localcommissioning requirements.
  • Prescribing in line with national and local formulary guidance.
  • Managing acute and chronic conditions, including proactive longterm condition reviews.
  • Processing clinical administration in a timely manner (e.g., referrals,prescriptions, pathology results).
  • Participating in the duty doctor and telephone triage rota.
  • Maintaining accurate, legible, and contemporaneous clinical records.
  • Participating in the equitable sharing of practice workload.
  • Engaging with audit, QOF, IIF, and clinical governance processes.
  • Attending and contributing to practice meetings (e.g., clinical,safeguarding, M&M, SEA).
  • Undertaking appraisals, revalidation, and maintaining up-to-dateprofessional registration.
  • Contributing to the training of medical students and other healthcarelearners.
  • Supporting practice development, income optimisation, andefficiency initiatives.
  • Promoting a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuousimprovement.
  • Ensuring all mandatory training and professional competencies areup to date.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for theprovision of safe, effective, and compassionate medical services to thepractice population. They will deliver an excellent standard of clinical carewhile complying with the requirements of the GMS contract and GMCstandards for Good Medical Practice.The role requires active contribution to the effective management of thepractice, leading by example, and maintaining positive, collaborativeworking relationships within the multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification
  • Full GMC registration
  • National Performers List registration
  • Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently
Clinical knowledge and skills
  • High standard of clinical knowledge and decision making skills
  • Medicines management and evidence-based prescribing experience
Qualifications
  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of
  • Training CCT)
  • Educational Supervisor
Experience
  • Experience of working in a UK primary care environment
  • Experience of continued professional development
  • Experience of chronic disease management, QOF and clinical audit
  • General understanding of the GMS contract
  • Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
  • Experience of medicines management
  • Experience of ICB initiatives
