Job Description

We are looking for a 6-8 session Salaried GP tojoin us.

Watling Street Practice is a partnership of 11 Partnersand 11 Salaried GPs working across Milton Keynes. Our three sites are withinStony Stratford, Great Holm and Shenley Church End.

We believe that a group practice such as ours provides achoice of personal care from doctors with a wide range of medical interests.

Main duties of the job

You will have a personal list, enabling you to provideyour patients with your best quality of care, continuity and familiarity.

We are a busy practice, but supportive, friendly,collaborative and with all doctors sharing the on call shifts.

We have 5 GP trainers in the practice reflecting ourcommitment to lifelong learning and we include all our doctors with thetraining of our GP Registrars. We have twice monthly education meetings and allclinical staff are encouraged to participate in selecting topics, runningevents and presenting learning.

You would primarily be working from our Stony Stratfordsite but would spend time each week at our other locations.

Working Pattern -Conversations around flexible working and compressedhours are encouraged

  • £11,000 per session, per annum
  • Our Practice sites are open from 7am 8pm; youwill be included in the coverage of earlies and lates on a rotational basis
  • There will be an expectation to work 2 or 3Saturdays per year
About us

We are forward thinking, working closely with our ICBresulting in the development of our community Dermatology Clinic.

Our PCN is supporting its practice by deliveringcentralised HR support, payroll and bookkeeping. The PCN also host our scanning& workflow teams our secretaries and our prescription clerks. This createsphysical space in our practice but also removes pressure from our clinicalteams.

Watling Street PCN employs a community team includingnurses, social prescribers and a social work assistant supporting our mostvulnerable patients and those most at risk of avoidable hospital admissions.And also within our network we have access to mental health services for ouradult patients, counselling/mentorship services for our younger patients (5-25y/o), a podiatrist, First Contact Physiotherapy, Pharmacists and Paramedics.

Our PCN delivers all our Enhanced Access commitment andwe would love to hear from GPs interested in being part of the team deliveringthose extra appointments to our patients. In that capacity we would beparticularly interested if you have (or would like to develop) additionalskills including perhaps Minor Surgery, Womens Health, ENT etc.
