We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Salaried General Practitioner (GP) to join our dynamic primary care team for 4 sessions per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative practice environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff, to deliver comprehensive healthcare to our local community.

Main duties of the job- Provide high-quality patient care
- Conduct surgery, telephone, and video consultations, plus occasional home visits
- Liaise with colleagues and external providers to ensure seamless care
- Investigate and refer patients appropriately, in line with guidance
- Review results and correspondence promptly
- Provide cover for colleagues when required
- Collect and review data for audit and QOF purposes
- Maintain excellent communication with patients and carers
- Attend clinical, governance, and educational meetings
- Work collaboratively and effectively within the team
- Manage your own workload and resources effectively
- Attend required training events and feedback sessions
- Report and follow up on significant incidents

Training PracticeThe practice is an accredited GP training practice, hosting 3 GPs in Training under the supervision of experienced GP Trainers: Dr Than, Dr Kotecha, and Dr Bharkhada.
Collaborative EnvironmentAs part of the Salutem Primary Care Network, Humberstone Medical Centre collaborates with four other local GP practices:
- Downing Drive Surgery
- East Leicester Medical Practice
- Johnson Medical Practice
- St. Elizabeth Medical Centre
Together, these practices serve a combined patient population of approximately 50,000. This network fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, enhancing patient care and professional development opportunities.
Job description Job responsibilities- Provide high-quality, safe, and effective medical care to patients.
- Diagnose, manage, and treat acute and chronic conditions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in line with best practice and NHS guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Work collaboratively with the practice team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
- Participate in clinical audits, governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to health promotion and patient education programs.
- Attend practice meetings, CPD sessions, and training opportunities.
- Supervise and support GP Registrars and medical students where appropriate.
- A vocational trained and accredited GP, preferably MRCGP
- Current registration with the GMC
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the practice uses TPP SystmOne)
- Excellent time keeping
- Excellent team player
- Good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QoF
- Experience and an interest in a specific disease area
