Safeguarding Officer (Grade VI Clerical)

AA Euro Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Safeguarding Officer (Grade VI Clerical) to join a disability service supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs based in North Wicklow.

This is a key leadership role responsible for safeguarding vulnerable adults, supporting Designated Officers, managing complex safeguarding concerns and ensuring the organisation meets all statutory safeguarding responsibilities. Working closely with the Social Work Department, Quality & Compliance Team and Operations, you will promote a culture of safety, dignity, accountability and best practice across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns across the organisation.
• Support Designated Officers with safeguarding referrals and investigations.
• Maintain accurate safeguarding records and confidential documentation
• Lead and participate in safeguarding investigations where required.
• Conduct safeguarding triage and risk assessments.
• Keep policies and procedures updated in line with legislative changes
• Maintain statistical records and KPI reporting

Requirements

• QQI Level 7 or Level 8 degree qualification in Social Care or a related field
• CORU Registration (proof of registration)
• Minimum 3 years experience within Intellectual Disability Services.
• Previous safeguarding experience including investigations and assessments
• Full driving licence and access to transport
• Eligibility to work in Ireland
• Working knowledge of HIQA Standards and Adult safeguarding legislation
