Location: Chilwell School, Nottingham, NG9 5AL
37 Hours per week
Chilwell School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Safeguarding Officer to join our pastoral and wellbeing team. This vital role supports the school's commitment to ensuring that every child feels safe, supported and able to thrive in a caring and secure environment.
As Safeguarding Officer, you will coordinate the school's daily safeguarding provision, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Pastoral Leads and external agencies. You will play a key role in identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns, ensuring timely and effective interventions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting pupils, families and staff across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the school's response to safeguarding concerns, ensuring procedures are followed in line with statutory guidance
Lead on daily triage of safeguarding disclosures and direct to appropriate staff or agencies
Submit referrals and represent the school at multi-agency meetings
Maintain accurate, confidential safeguarding records and monitor interventions through MyConcern
Liaise with students, parents and carers to ensure appropriate support and signposting to external agencies
Support the wellbeing and reintegration of students following absence or safeguarding-related concerns
Provide advice, guidance and up-to-date information to staff regarding safeguarding issues and procedures
Contribute to staff induction and ongoing training in safeguarding and child protection
Work closely with the pastoral and leadership teams to promote a culture of vigilance, safety and inclusion
