Job DescriptionRole: RPA/AI Lead for DePuy Synthes. Location: Leeds, UK or Zuchwil, Switzerland, or Singapore. This role may be posted under different requisition numbers to comply with local requirements. Applications across eligible postings will be treated as a single submission.
Role ContextJohnson & Johnson plans to separate the Orthopedics business to form DePuy Synthes. The separation is expected to complete in 18 to 24 months, subject to legal and regulatory approvals. If you accept this position, you would become an employee of DePuy Synthes and be governed by its policies and benefit plans, with details provided at the appropriate time.
Key Responsibilities- Own and maintain the international automation and AI roadmap for Customer Service, aligned to business objectives and transformation priorities.
- Partner with functional leaders to identify, assess, and prioritise automation opportunities that improve efficiency, compliance, customer experience, scalability, and performance.
- Translate process needs and data inputs into practical automation and AI-enabled solutions.
- Shape delivery of automated processes in line with design principles, governance, change control, and operational readiness.
- Maintain documentation for requirements, workflow logic, design decisions, operating procedures, testing, change control, and support models.
- Support testing, UAT, deployment, adoption, rollout, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvement of automation solutions.
- Manage delivery against project plans, communicating progress, risks, dependencies, decisions, and change control actions.
- Act as the business liaison between stakeholders, process owners, and delivery partners to ensure solutions meet business needs and are adopted.
- Develop training and knowledge-sharing materials to support adoption and sustainable use of automation capabilities.
- Monitor benefits and stay informed on automation, AI, and digital technology trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or related field is required.
- Master's degree, MBA, or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
- Strong understanding of business-led process automation, intelligent automation, and AI-enabled opportunities in operational environments.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear automation opportunities and delivery priorities.
- Strong written communication skills for documenting processes, requirements, decisions, and governance.
- Working knowledge of workflow logic, process mapping, and analytical tools, with intermediate spreadsheet capability.
- Experience with change control, governance, and delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or V-Model).
- Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, problem-solving, analytical, and process improvement skills.
- Ability to work across cross-functional teams in a matrixed international environment.
- Preferred: experience in regulated industries (medical devices, healthcare, life sciences); knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping, and digital adoption approaches.
- Language: English (required).
- Travel: Up to 10%, including international travel as required.
- Certifications: Lean, Six Sigma, or customer experience/operations certifications (preferred).
