Rota Nanny Cotswolds (2/2)
Posted 2 hours 52 minutes ago by Gaia Nannies
Salary: £75,000+ depending on experience
Children: B5, B3
Start Date: November
A family is seeking a capable and highly experienced nanny to join their team in a 2 week on/off rota, with a Monday changeover. The role will work alongside their current Norlander, providing consistent care for their two boys, aged 5 and 3. Both current Norlanders have been with the family for three to four years. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shadow both existing rota nannies as part of a thorough handover.
The boys are happy, sociable and well established in their routines. During term time, the eldest attends school five days a week, while the youngest attends three days. On the days the youngest is not at school, the nanny will spend the day with him, attending activities. When both boys are at school, the nanny should be proactive and use this time to stay on top of child-related organisation, planning and admin.
The family live on an estate with extensive grounds and amenities, which play a huge part in the boys' lives. They love being outdoors, riding their bikes, exploring the river with their Tonka trucks, feeding the chickens and picking vegetables from the garden. A nanny who genuinely enjoys getting outside and joining in with these activities will thrive in this environment. The family also love food and cooking, and a strong understanding of nutritious, balanced meals using fresh, seasonal produce is important. Mum particularly enjoys cooking, and the family often eat together, so the nanny should be happy to get involved with family meals.
This is a shared care role, with both parents involved in the boys' lives. Dad works, while Mum is hands on and involved with the children, including school runs and being their class representative. The nanny, therefore, needs to be a confident communicator.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can read the room and is naturally two steps ahead. The family are looking for a nanny who uses their initiative and anticipates the children's needs rather than simply reacting to them. Someone calm, confident and flexible in their approach will be particularly suited to the role. They are looking for a nanny who can bring their own experience while also respecting the routines and dynamics that are already working well for the family.
A confident driver is essential. The nanny will share the school run with Mum and will also be responsible for driving the boys to their various after-school activities and around the Cotswolds. The family also have a second home in London, which they visit for occasional weekends and school holidays, so the nanny should be comfortable driving between locations when required.
A Norland background is highly desirable, and the family are particularly keen to find someone who understands the standards and professionalism that come with working in a private household. The nanny will be responsible for all child-related duties, with laundry and general housekeeping taken care of by the wider household team.
The family enjoy travelling and regularly takes holidays to destinations such as Dubai, Greece and Italy. Switzerland is also now a regular winter destination the family visit. Both rota nannies are expected to travel with the family when required,so a nanny who enjoys travelling and is happy to do so is important.
Accommodation comprises a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom in the main house, located close to the children. The nanny also has use of a separate nanny kitchen and playroom, with a TV for relaxing during time off.
The family have a friendly dog and a cat who prefers to keep herself tucked away somewhere warm, so being comfortable around animals is important.
The family are close to Kemble train station, so while a confident driver with their own car is ideal, they can also support someone who drives but does not have their own vehicle.
