Job Description

We are hiring a passionate and driven roboticist / control engineer to join our growing team of talented engineers and researchers. The successful candidate will contribute towards the development of novel control and estimation systems for advanced motion control solutions that help accelerate the installation of offshore wind farms.


Education:

M.Sc. or higher


Control:

  • Modelling of (coupled) dynamical systems
  • Linear control theory
  • coordinate representations and generalised coordinates
  • control tuning methods
  • stability analysis methods
  • friction modelling (strong plus)
  • non-linear control education/experience is a strong asset (e.g passivity control, etc.)


Robotics:

  • spatial notations and kinematics
  • inverse kinematics
  • parallel robotics is a strong asset
  • motion control and planning (nice to have)


Programming:

  • C/C++
  • Python
  • m-code
  • Rust
  • real-time OS knowledge (nice to have)


Communication:

  • TCP/UDP/DDS


Soft-skills:

  • Team-player
  • Motivated to thrive in a team environment
  • Client contact capable


Responsibilities:

  • design control systems jointly with other senior experts and lead scientists at X-Lab,
  • perform mechatronic system modelling,
  • perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) prototyping and testing in the laboratory,
  • Perform machinery commissioning offshore, on-board sea going vessels regularly (world-wide),
  • conduct cluster/batch simulations and theoretical (stability) analyses,
  • prepare training materials and client-ready (internal) documentation
