Job Description

Roaming Staff Nurse / Paramedic (Band 5) - Working in the Hospice and within patients' homes within the community.

Hours: 30 hours per week

We are recruiting a Band 5 Registered Nurse / Paramedic to join our new roaming role across both our Inpatient Unit and Community End of Life Urgent Care Service. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills across two specialist areas while delivering high quality, compassionate palliative and end of life care.

Main duties of the job

About the role

  • Provide holistic, evidence based nursing care for patients with complex palliative and end of life needs in both hospice and community settings.
  • Support clinical decision making, symptom management and rapid response to deteriorating patients to help maintain preferred place of care.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring seamless, person centred care for patients and families in a blended role across the two settings.

  • Registered Nurse (Level 1) with NMC registration or Paramedic.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, person centred approach.
  • Ability to work flexibly across inpatient and community environments.
  • Willingness to develop specialist palliative care skills; experience desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence for community visits.
