Road Import Manager OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Road Import Manager to oversee and develop their import operations. This is a management-focused position, responsible for leading teams, ensuring operational efficiency, and supporting the continued growth of the department.

Road Import Manager Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the EU import department
• Manage and develop a UK-based team of 4-5 staff
• Lead and coordinate with an overseas customs team of 4
• Ensure smooth EU import operations across 100% road freight shipments
• Act as a point of escalation for operational issues when required
• Monitor team performance, productivity, and service delivery
• Take ownership of departmental P&L, reporting, and cost management
• Identify and implement process improvements and growth opportunities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain high service standards

Road Import Manager Requirements

• Strong experience in EU import operations (road freight essential)
• Previous team management experience, ideally across multiple locations
• Good understanding of customs procedures (hands-on experience beneficial)
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets or P&L
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges
• Strong leadership and communication skills
