What you'll be involved in:Teledyne Microwave UK has an exciting opportunity for either:
- An experienced RF Engineer, or
- An experienced engineer in an electronics design field willing to train as an RF Engineer.
This individual will join the Engineering Team to design RF Circuits and Systems, ranging from simple amplitude measurement and LNAs to complete systems from 500MHz to 40GHz. Responsibilities include designing custom RF components and systems from concept to production, and researching new enabling technologies to shape the company roadmap.
Key duties include:
- Perform detailed design and development of RF Components, Systems, and Multi-function Assemblies, such as:
- Systems
- Transceivers
- Frequency measurement systems
- VCOs and synthesizers
- Limiters and Switches
- Provide technical input to other disciplines for project completion.
- Support customer visits and provide product expertise with Sales & Marketing.
- Plan and define technical aspects of product development projects in collaboration with the Project team.
- Ensure product requirements are fully captured and planned as engineering tasks.
- Achieve project requirements including cost objectives as per customer order documents.
- Maintain visibility of the design approach and ensure designs meet product requirements through reviews.
- Facilitate technical discussions and promote new ideas.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience as an RF and Microwave Design Engineer with a broad range of RF design skills.
- Understanding of mechanical design during development and product transfer.
- Experience designing complex RF microwave components, systems, and sub-systems for Defence, Communications, or Aerospace industries.
- RF design experience up to 40GHz.
- Proficiency with 3D EM simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, etc.
- Experience with microwave design tools like AWR, ADS, etc.
- Assist with technical classification of products for export.
- Knowledge of engineering best practices.
- Good communication skills for reporting tasks and risks.
- Ability to work well with peers and support staff.
- Security clearance up to SC level is required.
