Reed are seeking a dedicated and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting pupils across both primary and secondary age ranges with a variety of additional learning, emotional, and behavioural needs. It is well suited to candidates with experience in education, as well as those with strong transferable skills who are keen to work within a specialist and often alternative SEND provision.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Work closely with teaching and support staff to help pupils engage with learning, build confidence, and feel supported throughout the school day.
• Deliver support on a one-to-one basis, within small groups, or in alternative learning environments, depending on pupil needs.
• Due to the nature of the provision, the role requires flexibility, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach.
• Travel between settings may be required, therefore access to a car and appropriate business insurance is essential.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient.
• Confident in supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing environments and pupil needs.
• Comfortable working across both primary and secondary age groups.
• Experience in education, care, or support work, or able to demonstrate relevant transferable skills.
• Access to a car with business insurance is essential.
• Previous school-based experience is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with backgrounds in care, youth work, or other support roles are encouraged to apply.
