Blue Forge Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading nationally recognised Retail Convenience brand, who operate an extensive network of stores across Ireland. Fresh food is a core pillar of their business and a key differentiator within their retail model. To support continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Fresh Food Advisor to support their retailers by developing their fresh food offering and working closely with their fresh food teams to drive sales and margin. This is a field based role, Monday to Friday, mainly Munster based but will require occasional travel beyond this region, and the job does involve regular travel to various sites and head office in Dublin. The successful candidate will work closely with in store management, store operators, and fresh food teams to drive standards, consistency, innovation, and commercial performance. This position is ideally suited to a seasoned fresh food professional with strong retail experience either in a multi site operational role or within a high performing fresh food led retail store and understands symbol convenience retailing, sales, and margin. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, commercially minded, and people focused, a proven hands on fresh food manager or senior Deli Manager with a proven track record and a strong understanding of deli and bakery operations, sales, and trends. Experience in a high profile fresh food retail store, leading end to end fresh food projects, overseeing revamps, implementing operational improvements, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety is essential. Responsibilities- To assist and advise on all categories within the fresh food departments focusing on driving performance within your assigned region, while training and developing teams across various sites to deliver a best in class fresh food experience.
- Support your retailers and work with the fresh food teams by identify any issues in underperforming fresh food areas and support the store to ensure they are resolved in accordance with company practices and guidelines.
- Build strong relationships with store managers and their teams and work to achieve a successful retailing environment that exceeds expectations.
- To assist stores by providing profitability and stocktaking procedures and address non performing areas effectively, ensuring that issues are resolved in accordance with company guidelines.
- To deliver ongoing hands on practical fresh food training and develop stores to continually improve on their fresh food range standards.
- To organise and manage training in respect of the certified food safety management system for stores and their staff.
- To advise stores and staff on improvements that can be made to achieve the food safety audits specific to the store brand.
- To identify areas of stock leakage and ensure effective systems are in place to minimise stock loss through inadequate portion control, wastage, damages, out of date stock etc.
- To utilise stock effectively and efficiently to minimise and control fresh food waste, where waste occurs stock to be accurately recorded and discarded appropriately.
- To assist in the creation and delivery of relevant training course material to our clients customers and staff.
- A clean Irish driving licence.
- Flexible to work core business hours, this is a field based role that requires regular driving to various counties across Munster sometimes beyond depending on projects.
- HACCP trainer qualified ideally level 2 or more.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to both motivate and influence store operators and fresh food teams in store.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Excellent administration skills, ability to access reports and metrics on various tools.
- Self motivated and ability to manage a busy weekly schedule, able to prioritise over 20+ different locations in different parts of the country.
- See operations and business strategically.
- Demonstrated expertise in multi site fresh food retail operations, with a proven track record in driving operational change, leading strategic projects, and building high performing teams.
- Must have a successful track record as manager in a high profile retail fresh food environment, proven hands on deli and Bakery Management experience is a must.
