Job Description

Resuscitation Training Department is looking for administrative support. You will need to be organised, efficient and computer literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office(TM).Your principles duties will include dealing with course applications ensuring course materials are submitted to candidates as appropriate. Preparing course paperwork and entering candidate's attendance on our data base and issuing certificates as required for relevant courses.Deal with enquires from staff and external course candidates both in person and on the phone, collecting and dealing with post as appropriate and responding to email applicants.The post will also include some audit administrative duties.Developing and improving current systems in conjunction with the Resuscitation Officers.

Main duties of the job

To provide an assistant/administration service to Resuscitation Training Services Manager and Resuscitation Officers. To manage own workload, demonstrate efficient organisation and ensure the smooth effective operation of the department. To work within the team, providing organisational support to all staff.To gain understanding of national and local standards and policy and be proactive in ensuring the department can deliver a service that meets the standards and targets that have been set. To provide a considerate, customer focussed service in all dealings with managers and with staff throughout the hospital including our external customers.

Job responsibilities

To undertake administrative duties in support of the Resuscitation Services manager (RSM) and Resuscitation Officer (RO).To deal with post, e-mails, on a regular basis and prioritise as necessary to ensure RSM and RO are aware of urgent enquiries and information.Act as the first point of contact to visitors to the department and those telephoning the office being aware of the needs of the service as well as issues that may arise out of training requirementsBe aware of the sensitive and confidential nature of matters brought to the department and deal tactfully and appropriately with callers. Listen to and refer appropriately customer concerns. Enter and administer candidates and faculty on training databases.Ensure a supply of course information packs and send them out as appropriate.Producing relevant course material for upcoming courses.Assist in the registration of candidates for courses run by the department involving receiving MCQ packs back and taking candidates pictures

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Good general standard of education to A level or NVQ 3 or equivalent by experience
Knowledge and Skills
  • A good knowledge and understanding of the administrative role, within an office environment.
  • CPD - Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development
  • Should have an understanding of healthcare training/national guidance/CQC/ and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
