The Resource and Operations Team works at the centre of the business providing the right people, on the right projects, at the right time. This is an exciting time for the Resource and Operations Team at Roke as we build on the professionalism of our people and work closely with the business to develop and implement Roke business and people strategy. We want to attract a resourcing professional with demonstrable experience in:

  • Operational resourcing of people and skills within a technology-focussed organisation (not recruitment)

This is a 9 month FTC.

Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities

Resource Partner for Innovation Business Unit including :

  • Partnering with the Innovation Team to capture project demand and identify possible candidates with availability from across the business to deliver
  • Collaborate with Resource Managers and BU Line Managers in order to balance personal/professional development needs with innovation and project demands.
  • Be a champion for good housekeeping agreed hours in SAP ensuring that all innovation activity is correctly forecast and communicated.
  • Identify and escalate instances where process is not being followed and business risk is increasing.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to understand their resource requirements and deliver resource solutions for their internal project demand which will require coordination with Resource Managers to meet these demands.

Working closely with colleagues in the wider Resource Team and Learning and Development Team to secure internal trainers for our Early Careers programme delivery and afterwards routes to productive tasking.

Expertise
  • Experience of internal resourcing (not recruitment) in Professional Services, or similar technical matrix organisation industry (ideal)
  • Conflict resolution and problem solving
  • High level of prioritisation/organisational skills and excellent time management
Knowledge and Skills
  • Relationship Skills, including communicating, influencing and senior stakeholder management
  • Developing and sustaining long term relationships with key stakeholders in the business units, and all areas of business and corporate services.
  • High degree of resilience and a self-starter
  • Proactive with a positive, flexible approach, enjoys problem solving
  • Able to work within tight deadlines and a fast changing environment.
  • Strong ability to liaise, influence, challenges effectively and build relationships at all levels.
  • Effective team player with an ability to develop personal networks through strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgement, balancing the needs of the individual, customer and the business
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Excel
  • Previous use of dashboard tools such as Power BI is desirable
  • Experience of MS Teams/Microsoft 365 applications
