About the Sector

Working in children's residential care can be both challenging and highly rewarding. The role involves supporting young people who may have experienced trauma, instability, or significant life challenges. Because of this, the work requires patience, resilience, consistency, and strong professional boundaries.

At the same time, it is one of the most meaningful roles within the care sector. Residential Support Workers have the opportunity to build positive relationships, provide stability, and help young people develop confidence, independence and a sense of safety. Seeing a young person make progress, overcome challenges, and move forward in their life is often what makes the role so rewarding.

The Opportunity

Our client is opening a brand-new solo children's home in Saddleworth, Oldham. This is an opportunity to join the service from the very beginning and become part of a small, consistent team supporting one young person with complex needs.

Working within a solo home allows staff to provide focused, relationship-based support. The team will play an important role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where the young person can feel secure, develop trust, and make positive progress.

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will support the young person in all aspects of their daily life. This includes helping to create a stable home environment, supporting routines, promoting independence, and responding to emotional and behavioural needs in a calm and consistent way.

You will work as part of a small team to provide safe, high-quality care while maintaining accurate records, supporting care plans, and ensuring safeguarding and professional standards are always maintained.

This role suits individuals who are patient, resilient, and motivated by making a meaningful difference in a young person's life.
