Job Description
Residential Conveyancing Assistant - Leicester An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal to join a well-regarded Residential Property team based in Leicester. This role would suit a motivated and organised legal professional looking to work within a friendly, supportive environment where high standards of client care and efficient conveyancing are genuinely valued.The role You will play a key part in supporting fee earners across a varied residential conveyancing caseload, assisting from initial instruction through to post-completion. The team is known for its collaborative approach, clear communication with clients, and use of modern systems to ensure transactions progress smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive administrative support across residential property matters
- Preparing and issuing client quotations
- Dealing confidently with queries from clients, solicitors, lenders and estate agents
- Keeping clients updated and proactively monitoring matter progression
- Opening and closing files on the case management system in line with AML requirements, SRA regulations and CQS standards
- Assisting with freehold and leasehold transactions
- Carrying out online searches and liaising with third-party providers
- Using the Land Registry portal to submit registrations, respond to requisitions and obtain official copies, leases and title plans
- Producing Stamp Duty Land Tax calculations and submitting applications
- Preparing billing documentation, receipts and payment requests for the finance team
- Providing occasional reception cover where required
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal (preferred)
- A good working knowledge of legal office procedures
- Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience using case management systems
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- The ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines
- A practical understanding of the conveyancing process
- Office-based role within a friendly and approachable property team
- Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:15pm with a one-hour lunch break
