Resident Engineering Manager

Role Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations at a high-volume logistics hub. In this role, you will be the go-to person for technical escalations and team coordination, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. Your leadership will be crucial in driving preventive maintenance, handling breakdowns, coordinating with suppliers, and leading cross-functional improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee a site-based team and ensure their professional development across technical and administrative functions.
• Prioritize, schedule, and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Take a lead role during major breakdowns or high-impact incidents.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes.
• Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding operational and safety matters.
• Ensure HSE compliance and follow up on related agreements.
• Prepare monthly reports and manage associated administration.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and external service providers.
• Contribute to system upgrades, installations, and modifications involving mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Mentor and train team members, and contribute to onboarding and development programs.

Your Profile

• Demonstrable experience in a similar leadership role within a technical or logistics environment.
• A strong people manager who communicates clearly and assertively.
• Proven ability to stay calm under pressure and take initiative in high-stakes situations.
• Solid background in both operational and tactical maintenance planning.
• Technically proficient, with hands-on experience in large automated systems.
• Comfortable with HR-related responsibilities and performance management.
• Fluent in Dutch, with good command of English considered a plus.
