As our business looks to deliver its ambitious strategy of growth, we are looking for a Research Scientist to join the Fermentation Team within the Biotechnology R&T Group. Based in the purpose built laboratories at the Daresbury Science Park, your role will be to support the development and scale up of Croda's rapidly expanding Biotechnology pipeline.

• PhD with experience in microbiology, biotechnology or chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in developing scalable microbial cell culture processes, with hands on work in laboratory fermentations and ideally exposure to pilot scale or production scale environments.
• Technical background in strain engineering of yeast, including culture and genetic manipulation.
• You will have strong communication and networking skills.
• Hands on experience using a wide range of microbial systems comprising more than one bacterial and yeast processes.

What You'll Be Doing:

• You will be expected to work closely with our internal production team(s) and our external toll partners to undertake efficient technology transfer to establish these processes at an industrial scale.
• You will also be expected to work closely with our commercial, IP, regulatory, application, and sales and marketing teams to ensure the processes are efficiently developed and established into commercial scale manufacture.
