Job Description
Position Overview 
Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Mass Spectrometry to work under the supervision of Professor James SO McCullagh for a period of 3 years. The project involves the development and application of multiple mass spectrometry methods for detecting falsified and substandard vaccines, with particular focus on MALDI-TOF analysis. The role will involve interactions with multiple collaborative projects across departments and is funded by the MRC DPFS.

Responsibilities- Develop and apply mass spectrometry methods for the detection of falsified and substandard vaccines.
- Collaborate with multiple projects across different departments.
- Work closely with experienced doctoral and post doctoral researchers in the Department of Chemistry.
- Liaise with colleagues in the Departments of Biochemistry and the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
- Engage with stakeholders in academia and industry and foster international links.
- Hold at least an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or a relevant subject area before taking up appointment.
- Have experience in analytical chemistry.
- Have previous experience working in mass spectrometry or similar analytical chemistry instrumentation and sample analysis.
