Research Assistant - CORES

The successful candidate will support the development and sustainability of the Community of Research Engaged Schools (CoRES) initiative, a community of practice designed to foster research-practice partnerships between Higher Education (HE) and schools.

Your duties will include organisation of workshops with teachers and education professionals to identify shared priority areas and build the foundations for the community. You will also work with the community to establish a network of HE institutions with research practice partnerships with schools and host a symposium for sharing best practice. In collaboration with community members, you will prepare a journal article on the development of research practice partnerships between HE and schools.

You will assist with the on-going CoRES activities e.g. growing the database of community members, steering group meetings, and events including the 2027 Education Research Impact Showcase. Working with programme and module leaders you will identify opportunities for integrating CoRES into student education through authentic assessments, dissertations/capstone projects and placements. You will also work with the School's Research Centre leads to build teams around CoRES emerging research priorities.

You will be an enthusiastic individual, able to confidently work with a wide range of stakeholders. You will have excellent administrative and organisational skills combined with an ability to manage and prioritise your own workload. You will also be required to work across teams within the School, Faculty and University.
