We are looking for a confident Relief DBS Chef to support a fresh food kitchen within a prestigious venue in the Kendal area. This role would suit a chef who enjoys daytime hours, quality ingredients and a well organised kitchen environment, with the chance to support regular services throughout the day as well as occasional events.
The food offering is focused on strong British dishes with international influences, all prepared fresh and to a consistent standard. This would be a great opportunity for a chef with hotel, multi outlet, events or high quality fresh food experience who can adapt quickly, work independently and support a professional kitchen team.
This position offers daytime hours only, with weekends off available, making it ideal for a chef who wants to continue working in a high standard kitchen while enjoying a better work life balance.
This position does not include accommodation, so you must be able to reliably commute.

Relief DBS Chef Ideal Profile:- Experience working as a Chef in a professional fresh food kitchen
- A valid Enhanced DBS certificate suitable for the role
- Background in hotels, multi outlet kitchens, events or quality food led venues would be beneficial
- Confident preparing fresh British dishes with international influences
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Able to adapt quickly to different kitchen routines and service requirements
- Focused on high hygiene, food safety and allergen standards
- Calm, reliable and organised during busy daytime services
- Positive attitude with a professional and flexible approach
- Prepare and cook fresh, high quality dishes for regular daytime services
- Support a strong British food offering with international dishes incorporated
- Assist with occasional events where required
- Maintain consistency, quality and presentation across every service
- Follow agreed menus, recipes and dietary requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen
- Adhere strictly to food hygiene, allergen and safety regulations
- Work closely with the kitchen and wider venue team to ensure service runs smoothly
- Manage stock rotation and support basic kitchen administration when required
- Bring a reliable, professional and positive approach to every shift
