Job Description
Relay UK Call Handler - Make Every Word Count

Glasgow (G2 8LA)

£13.97 - £32.55 per hour (shift dependent)

37.5 hours per week 5 days over 7 (incl. weekends & bank holidays)

Start Date: 26/05/2026

4 weeks full time training (100% attendance required)

Relay UK is a vital service helping deaf, hard of hearing, and speech impaired individuals connect with emergency services, businesses, friends, and family. As a Relay UK Call Handler, your fast and accurate typing ensures every message is delivered clearly, safely, and in real time.

This role is perfect for someone who is calm, compassionate, and confident under pressure and who has exceptional typing skills.

What You'll Be Doing Real Time Communication
  • Convert spoken words into text instantly and accurately.
  • Support Relay UK calls, Directory Enquiries (118500), and more.
Communicating With Care
  • Stay calm, patient, and empathetic, especially during difficult or emotional calls.
  • Provide a reliable lifeline for users who depend on you.
Attention to Detail
  • Your precision keeps conversations flowing smoothly.
  • Your accuracy ensures clarity and safety, especially in urgent situations.
What We're Looking For Outstanding Typing Skills (Essential)

You MUST type 50+ WPM at 98% accuracy.

Typing will be tested during the application process.

Shift Patterns

We have different options available with shifts falling between 8am and 11pm. Shifts could fall on a weekend.
