We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of REGX Data Governance.
The Data and Analytics Office (DAO) is driving HSBC's $200M global data transformation, embedding data into every decision and enabling data to power business strategy. DAO partners with global teams to connect data, technology, and processes that deliver customer and financial value.

The Reg-X team plays a key role in data protection by ensuring regulatory data is well-governed, accurate, and compliant-supporting risk, finance, and compliance reporting.

In this role you will:
• Develop and maintain Data Management Policy and BCBS 239 advisory documents, ensuring they are accessible, up to date, and aligned with processes and services.
• Define a 5-year strategy by aligning BCBS 239 with the Risk Management Framework in partnership with Data Stewards.
• Maintain and enhance the bank's BCBS 239 compliance interpretation, ensuring it is current, communicated, and integrated with policy and processes.
• Identify and define key controls, monitoring mechanisms, and evidence requirements to support compliance.
• Lead Risk Taxonomy Control Library projects, including tracking refresh cycles, managing taxonomy/control updates, and reporting to management.
• Provide expert governance advice, deliver training, support BAU teams in improving compliance, and ensure BCBS 239 adherence across regions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Strong policy interpretation and application skills, with the ability to translate BCBS 239 and regulatory guidelines into clear, practical governance controls and processes.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory reporting and risk data requirements, including experience leading Risk Taxonomy Control Library initiatives-managing control updates, refresh cycles, and communicating with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to educate, influence, and align stakeholders across complex workstreams, ensuring consistent understanding and application of governance policies and compliance standards.
• Experience with governance frameworks and tools, including control monitoring, evidence criteria, and risk oversight, combined with excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
