Job Description
Overview

Full time, permanent role based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. The position requires working entirely in the UK. A minimum of eight days per month on site is expected, with the possibility to increase to twelve days where business needs dictate.

About the Agency

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) protects public health by regulating medicines and medical devices. The Innovation and Compliance Group drives quality and appraises benefits and risks to inform robust decisions on healthcare access, including accelerated patient pathways.

Role

The Inspection Action Group (IAG) meets regularly to assess critical and major deficiencies identified during inspections. The post-holder provides secretariat support for IAG meetings and liaises across the Agency, DHSC, NHS Trusts and licence holders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide full administrative support for the IAG, including logging referrals, booking and setting up meetings, circulating papers and maintaining case files.
  • Draft succinct and accurate minutes and action items within tight deadlines.
  • Update and maintain systems for capturing relevant statistics, Freedom of Information requests and produce monthly IAG statistics.
  • Complete IAG actions, including drafting and issuing regulatory letters and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Who We Are Looking For

Demonstrate the following:

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, using own initiative and minimal supervision.
  • Strong organisational skills, managing workload to meet tight, occasionally conflicting deadlines.
  • Experience in committee secretariat support - producing accurate, succinct minutes, reporting on actions and providing briefings on cases.
  • Excellent organisational skills arranging meetings for large, diverse groups with conflicting diaries at short notice.
Technical and Communication Skills
  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent IT skills with proven experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Excel) and the ability to update tables for statistical reporting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, dealing with people at varying levels including senior staff.
