Regulatory Business Analyst - REMIT II & MiFID (Contract)
Location: Canary Wharf - London - 3 days per week.
Contract: Initial 4-month contract

We're working with a leading player in the financial and wholesale energy sector who is seeking an experienced Regulatory Business Analyst/Consultant to join their Regulatory Reporting team. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of major regulatory change projects, driving the analysis, interpretation, and delivery of upcoming REMIT II and MiFIR transaction reporting requirements.

The Role
As a Regulatory Business Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in translating complex regulations into actionable business requirements. You'll conduct detailed impact analyses, support user acceptance testing, and partner with senior stakeholders across compliance, legal, technology, and trading teams. This is a highly visible role, acting as a bridge between regulatory requirements and practical implementation in a dynamic trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and interpret complex regulatory requirements across REMIT II, MiFID, and EMIR refit.
  • Conduct impact assessments and document clear, high-quality business requirements.
  • Support the implementation of MiFIR transaction reporting into a new reporting platform.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across compliance, legal, technology, and Front Office.
  • Drive process mapping, data analysis, and regulatory change management.
  • Contribute to user acceptance testing and industry working groups (eg ACER, ESMA, ISDA).
About You
  • Proven track record as a Business Analyst or Project Manager within regulatory change.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory reporting in financial markets and wholesale energy.
  • Hands-on experience with REMIT, MiFID/MiFIR, and EMIR refit implementations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with both Agile and waterfall project delivery.
  • Commodities trading knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Proactive, independent, and compliance-driven with excellent attention to detail.
