Role Summary

We are looking for a caring, dynamic and highly motivated Registered Manager to join our established team in Carlisle. You must be a practitioner with management skills and have experience and knowledge of working within the social care sector in support of people with housing, mental health/learning disabilities and related needs. The Registered Manager will lead the operational management of supported accommodation for 7 people we support with learning disabilities and mental health needs in Carlisle (Stanwix area) and, on a minimum of one day a week, support another Registered Manager at The Laurels Care Home for older adults. The role involves ensuring that service users receive recovery focused support, managing risk through robust risk assessment and management plans, and delivering personalised care in line with agreed support plans. The Manager will promote an open culture of responsive, person centred practice and be the main point of contact for CQC, ensuring compliance with CQC Regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

You will ensure that care and support is truly personalised, that service users enjoy wellbeing, quality of life and develop community connections, and that risk is effectively managed and updated. You will demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support, write clear assessments, support plans and guidelines, and work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos. You will implement initiatives that connect service users to their local community and promote our reputation. A car driver is desirable, and you must be able to work flexibly on a rota to cover evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

You must be an accomplished manager with extensive experience and knowledge of the social care sector, particularly support for individuals with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You should have skills in positive communication and engagement, the ability to write clear assessments and support plans, and organisational ability and vision to deliver excellent outcomes for customers. Prior experience as a Registered Manager is not required, but you must be a confident and accountable practitioner with the ability to put quality standards into practice.
