About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Orthopaedic Wards nursing team. You will play a key role in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care to a defined group of patients from admission to discharge.


Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence based care, ensuring patients and their families feel informed, supported and involved throughout their journey.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standard, evidence based nursing care in line with NMC and NHS Scotland standards

  • Organise and prioritise your workload to meet the needs of patients effectively

  • Work within legal, ethical and professional frameworks, promoting patient safety and wellbeing

  • Support junior staff and students, contributing to mentorship, preceptorship and professional development programmes

  • Use sound clinical judgement in assessing patient conditions and responding appropriately

  • Participate in audit, research, clinical governance and service improvement initiatives

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with confidentiality and data protection standards

  • Contribute to smooth departmental running, including taking charge in absence of the Senior Charge Nurse

  • Use specialised and generic clinical equipment safely and competently (e.g. ECG, IV pumps, bladder scanners)


About You

We are looking for someone who is patient focused, adaptable and eager to develop their skills within a supportive and dynamic environment.


You will have:



  • UK NMC registration as a Registered Nurse

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and time management abilities

  • Commitment to continuous professional development

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Compassion, resilience and professionalism in emotionally challenging situations
